Toniebox 2, Worth The Hype? Here’s My Honest Review

Toniebox 2, Worth The Hype? Here’s My Honest Review

I’m the parent of two young kids — a curious 5-year-old who’ll watch YouTube for hours if I let him, and a 2-year-old who treats bedtime like a game of hide-and-seek. I’m always searching for creative ways to keep them engaged without screens and without a battle.

So when I heard about the new Toniebox 2, I was intrigued… but sceptical. One device for both kids? Sounds like a disaster waiting to happen — or worse, another forgotten toy collecting dust at the back of the wardrobe.

Of course, I’d seen the original Toniebox around, but Toniebox 2 promises more — interactive play, routine support for better sleep, and a fresh design. It sounded too good to be true. But after one too many bedtime meltdowns and the endless screen battles, I was at my wits’ end. A friend swears by the Toniebox, so I decided to give it a go.

Here’s what genuinely impressed me about the Toniebox 2:

🎲 Interactive play without screens (not just listening) – With Tonieplay, my older son gets to decide what happens next — whether he’s steering a story or using the new controller and discs to play a game. I’ve never seen him this focused without a screen before.

😴 Better bedtime and wake-ups – Like the original, you can play white noise or bedtime stories with your Tonies. But the Toniebox 2 also has a night light, sleep timer and a gentle sunrise-style alarm, making each end of the day calmer and easier.

💡 Surprisingly educational – The Tonies support memory, vocabulary, speech and listening skills, while interactive Tonieplay sparks imagination and fun.

👪 Designed for real families – USB-C charging and Bluetooth headphone connection make it easier to use on-the-go, while app-based controls let me manage what my kids hear. It’s still soft, sturdy and built to survive real play. It’s safe for toddlers (1+ certified), but smart and engaging enough to grow with them through the years.

🎨 It looks great! – We picked the Sunset Red — but it also comes in Sky Blue, Cloud Pink, Tropical Teal and Moon Grey. The new interactive light ring changes colour as stories play, shows battery life and allows kids to adjust the volume with a tap. The matching headsets are adorable too!

Final thoughts?

I never expected one toy to make such a massive difference in our home, but the Toniebox 2 is a lifesaver. It’s a fixed part of both kids’ daily routines. My toddler winds down with white noise, bedtime stories and the gentle night light — he’s asleep faster, and with far less drama. Mornings are calmer too, thanks to the sunrise-style alarm that eases him into the day without tears.

And my five-year-old is hooked on Tonieplay. He loves spinning the controller to choose what happens next in the story and challenging himself with Disney trivia. No more demanding the iPad every evening!

With Bluetooth headphones, an easy-to-use app and a sturdy design that survives life with kids, the Toniebox 2 is a brilliant toy that earns its spot on our bedside tables, at breakfast, on the couch and in the car.

And with more Tonieplay games and stories launching soon — including titles from Gabby’s Dollhouse, a Ms. Rachel Tonie and beyond — my kids are thrilled. And yours will be, too — with the Toniebox 2!
