I'm not one to indulge in unnecessary services - but there certainly seems to be an overabundance of them these days. You name it, there's a service or an app for it. So when my friend started raving about Handy, an app that lets you book home cleaning services, my immediate thought was, is this too good to be true?
I didn't really like the idea of a stranger coming to my home to clean, and figured I'd have to be in the house while they were there, so maybe I should just clean my place myself? The recurring cleaning plan is totally customizable. You can have a cleaner come weekly, bi-monthly or monthly and you can change this schedule at any time. I travel a lot and work unpredictable hours, so this level of flexibility is reassuring.
You can schedule bookings for as soon as the next day. I loved the idea of being able to have a cleaner come the next day if I was having last-minute visitors or if I couldn't face cleaning my kitchen!
Handy has introduced the Handy Safety Standard, which includes a number of steps to help foster a safe environment for the customers and cleaning professionals who use Handy. Handy is also providing face coverings to all professionals to wear during bookings and requires professionals to complete a daily in-app checkup confirming that they are not experiencing symptoms.
You can specify the exact tasks you want tackled in advance. I prefer cleaning my own bedroom, and hate kitchen chores, so I like that I can specify exactly what I want cleaned in advance, so my cleaner arrives prepared and knows exactly what to do.
