If there’s one thing every parent goes through faster than they ever imagined, it’s diapers. Between overnight changes and everyday messes, the right diaper can make a big difference.

As a busy mom who works from home, I’ve learned that not all diapers are created equal. But with so many “premium” diaper options on the market now, it’s hard to know which ones actually live up to the claims.

Some leave your baby damp. Some leak all the time. And some seem like a good choice, but just don’t hold up overnight.

Recently, I decided to compare two popular diapers that many parents are talking about right now: Coterie and Pampers Amore.

Here’s what I found after looking into both.

Key Similarities

  • Both are positioned as premium diapers that offer higher-quality materials and performance than standard drugstore options.
  • Both use soft, comfort-focused materials created to be gentle on sensitive baby skin.
  • Both use absorbency technology designed to pull moisture away from the baby’s skin and help reduce leaks.
  • Both have leak protection features intended to prevent blowouts and contain messes.

Key Differences

  • Materials: Coterie diapers are Totally Chlorine Free (TCF) | Pampers Amore is elemental chlorine-free but not fully TCF.
  • Moisture Control: Coterie uses quick-wicking technology to keep skin dry| Pampers Amore relies on its KeepDry™ liner and layered absorption.
  • Absorbency: Coterie offers very high absorbency that can last long stretches | Pampers Amore provides strong absorbency but may require more frequent changes.
  • Fit & Feel: Coterie diapers are lightweight and breathable | Pampers Amore diapers feel slightly thicker to me.
  • Convenience: Coterie offers a subscription with home delivery | Pampers Amore is mainly purchased through retailers.

Coterie Overview

I like to call Coterie the Gold Standard of diapers because they focus on performance and materials in a way most brands don’t.

The first thing that stood out to me was the materials. Coterie diapers are made without chlorine, parabens, VOCs, phthalates, heavy metals, or other unnecessary additives, which is important if your baby has sensitive skin. They’re also Totally Chlorine Free (TCF), meaning chlorine isn’t used in the bleaching process at all.

Personally, the biggest difference I noticed is how dry they keep my baby. Their quick-wicking technology pulls moisture away from the skin quickly, which means fewer damp diapers and far less need for diaper cream.

Despite being light, Coterie diapers absorb over 10x their weight in liquid, which helps prevent leaks and blowouts. And honestly, nights have been easier. I’ve also noticed fewer overnight changes because the diaper holds moisture well.

They’re thoughtfully designed with breathable topsheets, leak-preventing side cuffs, a wetness indicator, and a clean white design that doesn’t show through clothes.

Coterie diapers are a bit more expensive than typical drugstore brands, but the dryness, quality, and fewer leaks make them worth it in my experience, especially when it means fewer outfit changes and less laundry.

Pampers Amore Overview

Pampers recently introduced Pampers Amore as its more premium diaper option. With over 60 years of diaper expertise, I was curious to see how it compares to newer brands like Coterie.

The diapers are marketed as “soft as cashmere.” They’re hypoallergenic, dermatologically accredited by the Skin Health Alliance, and tested for over 1,000 chemicals, which offers some peace of mind for ingredient-conscious parents.

In terms of performance, they absorb liquid fairly quickly, and the Blowout Barrier™ helps reduce leaks around the back.

That said, compared to Coterie, a few things stood out. While the diapers are soft, to me they don’t feel quite as breathable and can feel a bit damp after heavier use. Overnight performance was decent, but not always reliable for longer stretches.

They also felt slightly bulkier, which may help with absorbency but can make the diaper more noticeable under clothes. Lastly, while Pampers Amore focuses heavily on testing for chemicals, they are not totally chlorine free, which may matter for parents who prefer diapers produced without chlorine during manufacturing.

Final Thoughts

Both Pampers Amore and Coterie are premium diapers that focus on comfort and skin safety. However, after comparing both, Coterie stands out in a few key areas that matter most to parents, including moisture control, totally chlorine-free materials, and a lighter, more breathable feel.

I’m also a big fan of Coterie’s flexible subscription service – as an already busy mom, I never have to worry about running out of diapers now, plus I save 10% on every order!

In the end, Coterie means fewer leaks, better dryness, and a diaper you don’t have to think twice about. And for busy parents like me, that kind of reliability can make a real difference day to day.
