Natural Deodorant: My Journey From Skeptic To Subscriber

Natural Deodorant: My Journey From Skeptic To Subscriber 3333
I was finishing up exercising with a friend in the park, when I couldn’t help but notice their deodorant.

It was in a shiny, aqua-coloured case, with the name Wild on it. “Wow, that’s some fancy deodorant!” I said.

My friend explained to me that it was a natural deodorant with a reusable case.

“Natural deodorant? Does it actually work?”

“Yes! Even better than my old one since it doesn’t clog my pores, and it’s so much better for the environment.”

I’ve been trying to do my bit for the environment recently, I’d been taking my recycling more seriously and cutting down on my plastic waste. But I’d never considered a natural deodorant. To be honest, I didn’t even know they existed!

As soon as I got home I looked up Wild. All the ingredients really are sourced from nature and plants. Cacao seed butter slows the loss of water from the skin by creating a barrier on the skin’s surface, and Tapioca Starch, which absorbs moisture and keeps your armpits dry. Sounded like there might be something to this.

I was immediately impressed with their mission to reduce unnecessary plastic usage. How it works is, with your first order you get a case that’s made from recycled aluminum and plastic. And after that, you just buy the plastic-free refills which easily fit into the case. The refills are made of bamboo, so they’re completely compostable.

So, not only is the deodorant chemical-free, paraben-free, sulfate-free and natural, but the case itself is really environmentally friendly. Although this is seriously innovative, I was still skeptical about whether natural deodorant could be as effective as a chemical deodorant. They also donate money towards planting trees, and have planted 10,000 since April!

I’d always used spray deodorant, which worked fine. As much as I wanted to help the environment, maybe in some cases chemicals are necessary. But I looked up Wild’s customer reviews and they were all glowing. Plus, I did love the sound of getting that gorgeous deodorant delivered right to my doorstep.

When I read that the subscription is flexible and you can easily cancel it by logging into your online account, I decided I’d take the plunge and try it. It’s only £12 for the case and the first refill, and after that, refills are just £5 each. The case comes in 4 colours – Aqua, Coral, Purple and Silver. I went with the silver case and Coconut Dreams scent.

My delivery arrived in just a few days and I was excited to see if it worked for me. I knew that it can take about two weeks for your body to get used to it, but the first day I was pleasantly surprised, it smelled amazing and it definitely combatted any body odor. The real test would be after I exercised. A few days later, I applied it before going for a run, and afterwards I still smelled like coconuts! Two weeks later I can officially confirm this is no myth, Wild natural deodorant really works.

I can order refills in threes, so the next time around I tried other scents – Bergamot and Orange Zest. There are 5 in total, the others are Mint Fresh and Rose Blush. Bergamot is my favorite scent, it smells so much better than my old spray, and it’s super simple to insert the refill into the case. I also discovered that my spray deodorant ran out much more quickly, and I had to buy it more often. So, bye-bye old deodorant!

Now that I use Wild, I feel great about actually doing something for the environment. I thought chemicals were needed sometimes, but Wild has completely changed my perspective on natural products. It works just as effectively as any deodorant I’ve used before.

Plus, it’s better for my health, the environment, it’s much more convenient, and it smells fantastic! I’d highly recommend Wild deodorant.
