This Zero Waste Set Is All You Need for the Beach

Summer isn't over yet!

There's still so much on our bucket lists — between seeing friends, grabbing all those dinners, and celebrating getting vaccinated, this summer has been so full of catching up that it can be hard to squeeze in classic summer excursions.

And while the days are ending sooner, the temperatures are still at their summer peaks (thanks to … the climate crisis, so maybe this isn't such a good thing).

With sluggish, slow, hot days like this, the beach might be just what the doctor ordered.

And whether you're taking a local beach trip or vacationing on some long-awaited trip to some exotic beach in Europe, an island, or somewhere on the gorgeous African coast (everyone on our Instagram feeds is taking a long odyssey across Italy, how about you?) your packing list is usually some variation of the same essentials: sunscreen, tote bag, a hat.

But as we stay aware of the climate crisis, it's more important than ever to be aware of our impact on the environment.

While major corporations are responsible for the frightening majority of the irreversible climate damage — making for some frightening reports and statistics — we can still make more conscious decisions in our own lives.

According to the zero-waste brand and bling Package Free: "it's estimated that by 2050, there will be more plastic than fish by weight in the ocean?"

Package Freeencourages us all to reduce our waste — especially our single-use plastics. While the brand markets itself as "zero waste," don't be intimidated.

Zero waste is defined as: "The conservation of all resources by means of responsible production, consumption, reuse, and recovery of products, packaging, and materials without burning and with no discharges to land, water, or air that threaten the environment or human health."

And while some people make it their goal to be as close to zero waste as possible, Package Free does not mandate that everyone has to emulate the lifestyle.

But by making more informed, lowers impact decisions where we might have the privilege to, can help us be better stewards of our environment.

So as we go to beaches this summer, we'll make sure to clean up after ourselves, not litter, and appreciate the natural beauty we have …. while we still have it.

The Zero Waste Beach KitfromPackage Free "helps you do your part to protect our planet + yourself with these Zero Waste beach day essentials."
