Skin Treatments for More Youthful Skin

We've all been there before. Whether it's a new acquaintance thinking we look older than we are or a young niece or nephew thinking that you're 50+ years old, it doesn't feel good to feel old. Maybe you've tried a couple of anti-aging creams, but they never seem to cut it. If any of that hits home for you, it might be time to look into some more effective solutions. That's why we're here. We want to give you some options of skin treatments for more youthful skin.

Microneedling

Let's start off with a weird one. Microneedling is the process of moving a roller-like object that contains many tiny needles on the surface across your face. This creates thousands of microtears across your skin. "But wait!" I can hear you saying, "Wouldn't that damage my skin even more?" That's the weird part—it actually helps. When these tears are made, it forces your body to make more collagen, which is the thing your body uses to smooth out wrinkles that are on your skin.

It's best to have this type of procedure done professionally, but there are at-home kits if you want to try it out without breaking the bank. Either way, it is best to consult with a dermatologist before making any decisions, since it can be a painful (and even slightly dangerous) process.

IPLs

If you're not interested in attempting microneedling in order to have more youthful-looking skin, look no further than IPLs. IPL stands for Intense Pulse Light, and they're just one of many types of laser skincare treatments you can investigate. This treatment is pretty much what it sounds like. It uses high-frequency lights to target and heat up certain parts of your skin. This process is mostly used to help remove age spots, sun damage, and you guessed it—wrinkles. It can even get rid of varicose veins and unwanted hair.

It really does it all, but it can be a little pricey. It's also good to note that this is one of the more recent treatments in the dermatology field, so there hasn't been much research on any possible long-term effects. With everything that it can do for you, though, it's hard to turn down such an opportunity.

Ultherapy

Here is another one of the most popular skin treatments for more youthful skin. Ultherapy isn't too invasive on your body, but instead of using light, it uses sound. Ultherapy machines are similar to ultrasounds; however, instead of seeing through your skin, they use sound to reach deeper skin and create a thermal effect that makes your skin produce more collagen.

This treatment sounds almost perfect, except for the price, as it can cost up to $2,000. The results speak for themselves, but that's still a heavy asking price. Like all our previous suggestions though, make sure you talk to a dermatologist to see which option is the best for you.
