Is it just me or does anyone else feel like they spend most of the summer chowing down? From backyard BBQs, outdoor lunch dates with co-workers, to kid birthday parties (are there more birthdays in the summer?) I just feel like it's a never-ending smorgasbord. With the season coming to a close I started to realize how bloated I've felt these last couple of weeks. I'm not one to go on any fad diets or do new workout routines - between work and my kids I really don't have the time. I just needed something to give my body a fresh restart for the upcoming fall season. That's where the LemonKind juice cleanse came in. I've done juice cleanses in the past, up to five-day ones, but was looking for a new brand to try when I stumbled upon LemonKind.
LemonKind makes premium, all-natural juices and teas. All their juices are pressed, USA-made, non-GMO certified, and contain no preservatives or additives - only the real stuff. I especially loved finding-out the company is woman-owned and was happy to see all the 5-star reviews online. Unlike other cleanses where you have just five or six juices throughout the day, LemonKind provides a variety of EIGHT pouches to drink every two hours, beginning at 7am with your last at 9pm. So basically, as soon as you begin to get hungry, it's time for another juice!
Here are the juices you will drink in one day: two of the Mango Peppermint Green Teas, a Turmeric Carrot Gingerade, two Chlorella Infused Greens, two Aronia Berry Lemonades and a Blueberry Cinnamon Chia. There's a science behind these juices and the timing of when you should drink them - first thing in the morning you start off with Mango Peppermint Green Tea to lift you up and get you moving. At the end of the day, you finish off with Blueberry Cinnamon Chia, a chia seed infused juice that helps you stay full throughout the night.
I opted for a 3-day cleanse to really give my body the full reset I was looking for. Since I'm usually up by 6am with the kids a 7am start time was perfect for me. On the first day, I drank my first juice at home and then threw 5 more juices into my bag to bring to work. By the time I walked into the office at 9am it was time for juice number two - perfect timing. The other four juices went straight to the fridge because I prefer to drink them cold versus room temperature. At 5pm, I drank the sixth juice before heading out for the day. Dinnertime was the most difficult part of that day for me. Prepping a meal for my family and then watching them all eat it was a little rough. It wasn't because I was actually hungry, though - I just felt like I needed something to chew! That craving was gone by the next day and I felt amazing heading into day two.
I have to say that not only do these juices taste amazing, but the packaging is very unique and extremely efficient. If you've done juice cleanses before then you understand how impractical it is to carry around bulky (and heavy) plastic bottles in your purse as you run around all day. The LemonKind cleanses are packaged in these amazing, lightweight pouches similar to those applesauce pouches for young kids, making them perfect for on-the-go. Also, the juices don't need to be refrigerated so you won't have to worry about them spoiling in your bag.
After three days on LemonKind's juice cleanse, I felt much more energized and refreshed, and much less bloated - exactly what I was hoping to achieve. No other juice cleanse has been so easy to stick to. Thanks to LemonKind, I definitely feel better as I head into the new season.
