Honeylove Vs Skims: Here’s My Honest Opinion

With life returning to normal, I’m socializing more, visiting the office, and don’t get me started on the number of weddings I have coming up!

It's all exciting, but what I haven’t been excited about is figuring out what to wear after two years of sweats.

I have plenty of clothes, but I am in desperate need of some new shapewear. However the shapewear industry has become so crowded recently with so many brands claiming to transform your body, I had no idea where to start. The last thing I wanted to do was waste time and money trying a ton of brands.

After some research and reading reviews, I discovered the two main contenders were Honeylove and Skims. Here’s what I found when I compared the two:

Key Similarities:

  • Both aim to provide comfort
  • Both offer various types of shapewear solutions
  • Both are committed to making women feel sexy

Key Differences:

  • Honeylove is hyper-focused on Sculptwear
  • Skims is heavily influencer-endorsed
  • Honeylove's SoftFlex technology stops their Sculptwear from rolling down
  • Skims has more apparel outside of shapewear

Honeylove Overview:

Honeylove definitely values both comfort and effectiveness when it comes to their Sculptwear. I ordered their SuperPower Short and I was shocked to discover how small my waist could actually be. Not only that, but I still felt like I could breathe!

Honeylove uses flexible boning so there’s no poking or pinching, and these shorts really sculpt your entire body from below your breasts to above the knee! Not to mention that these shorts don’t roll down at all, so you never have to re-adjust them.

I wore them to the office and was surprised that I felt comfortable all day long and more confident than I have in a long time. The strong targeted compression even helped with my posture too!

I like that these shorts aren’t your typical granny Spanx. I felt sexy in their Runway color (black and mesh) and can’t wait to get more. Honeylove clearly knows what they’re doing.

For weddings, the shorts are perfect under mid length dresses, and for the shorter skirts I’ve already ordered the SuperPower Brief!

Skims Overview:

Skims is one of those brands you just can’t get away from. Scrolling down your timeline you’ll be met with all the influencers that rave about them and their inclusive products.

Like Honeylove, Skims was designed with support and comfort as a priority. I ordered the Skims Sculpting Short to give a fair comparison. I was already so impressed with Honeylove, I doubted anything could be better.

The Skims Sculpting Short provides seamless support. When I tried these shorts on, they really did give me a butt lift like they’re supposed to. These shorts have a silicone waist grip band to prevent rolling, but to be honest, this tight band just created a bulge in my upper stomach/waist which kind of defeats the purpose.

I appreciate how size-inclusive Skims are, but it is clear that these shorts are made for women who are on the slimmer side.

Final Thoughts:

Both brands have a lot to offer. Skims has such a wide range of stylish products, but when it comes to Sculptwear, I’m recommending Honeylove.

Overall, Honeylove’s SuperPower Short sculpted my body in a way I didn’t know was possible (they really do have superpowers!). They felt like higher quality overall — these shorts really don’t budge. In Honeylove, I’m free to move, bend, and stretch without having to go to the bathroom to re-adjust myself each time.

Honeylove has been the perfect solution to ease back into day-to-day life. I’ve already ordered the SuperPower Brief and SuperPower Short in a few extra colors, and their LiftWear Cami since you get 20% off your second item! After trying Honeylove, I’m not surprised that all of their products have glowing 5-star reviews.

If you’re in need of Sculptwear, check out Honeylove. You can thank me later!
