Over the last few months, I’ve given myself some leeway when it comes to my diet. It started off as a comfort thing. But then – since I work from home – snacking in between meals soon became an integral part of my routine. Snacking isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it got to the point where I was eating chocolate donuts after my lunch every day, and chips before dinner! Not ideal.
It wasn’t long until I started to see the effects on my body. Not only did I gain some weight, but I felt so sluggish I’d crash out for a 45-minute midday nap and wake up feeling worse for the wear. I chalked it up to the junk carbs and the sugar overload. But when I tried to introduce fruits and vege into my diet they didn’t fill me up or curb my cravings. I looked into food bars, thinking that they’d be a more nutritious option. But I was totally shocked that most of them have the same amount of sugar as candy bars. Or they were packed with artificial sweeteners that are just as bad for you.
When I complained to my friend Emily, she suggested I check out Paleovalley’s Superfood Bars that come in Apple Cinnamon, Lemon Meringue, Dark Chocolate, and yummy Red Velvet.
Paleovalley Superfood Bars
Emily’s been using Paleovalley’s Apple Cider Vinegar Capsules and says it’s helps her a ton. She recently tried their snack bars and thought they might be a healthy option for me. There are 9g of protein per bar. Plus, they’re gluten-free, grain-free, Paleo, and non-GMO. Paleovalley uses all certified organic superfoods so there’s a diverse spectrum of nutrients and enzymes in each bar along with grass fed collagen
Collagen in a bar?! Sounded a little weird if you ask me, but Emily insisted that I had to try them. I went to check them out and couldn’t believe how many superfoods are in Paleovalley’s bars. They’re crafted with 8+ Organic, Nutrient-Dense Superfoods plus Grass Fed Bone Broth Protein.
Turns out, collagen is beneficial to your digestion, too. And the bars are bursting with nutritious organic superfoods. Think: kale, broccoli, spinach, acerola, wild blueberry, spirulina, ginger, turmeric, Himalayan pink sea salt, rosemary extract, and monk fruit extract, to name just a few!
These bars sure sounded healthy, and they have no added or refined sugar and are sweetener-free, so I thought they’d taste horrible. But if I could use these as a snack replacement, it would be a game-changer, so I ordered a box of Superfood Bars in Apple Cinnamon and Chocolate just to try them.
Paleovalley Superfood Apple Cinnamon Bar
The delivery arrived promptly in a few days, and I couldn’t wait to try the bars. In between my breakfast and lunch, when I usually grab some biscuits, I tried the Paleovalley Apple Cinnamon Superfood Bar, and I love the flavor. It’s not too heavy like most food bars, but it’s satisfying, tastes fantastic – perfect for a morning snack.
I checked the ingredients on the back of the package – cashew butter, organic tapioca fiber syrup, 100% grass-fed bone broth protein, organic dried apples, organic dates, and organic pumpkin seeds. After my Paleovalley morning nosh, I didn’t snack until after lunch. Success!
That evening after dinner, my sweet tooth was calling, so I sampled the Paleovalley Chocolate Superfood Bar. Again, it was delicious and super chocolatey, so it satisfied my craving but with beneficial nutrients and superfoods.
I’ve been stocked with healthy snacks for weeks – and it’s paying off. Paleovalley’s Bars curb my junk food cravings and boosts my energy all through the day. I keep Red Velvet Superfood Bars in my bag for an easy, on-the-go snack – 10 bars per box, 9g of protein each, and just $4.30 a bar on Amazon. Totally worth it for something that actually fills me up and is super tasty.
