I've never been a New Year, New Me kind of person, probably because I know I won't stick to any resolutions. But after the crazy year, we all had, along with the most stressful holiday season, I wanted to make some changes; something that would help clear my head and give me a fresh start.

Living, working, zooming, and dining all from my apartment turned it into a chaotic mess. And that's not how I wanted to start my 2022. If this last year has taught me anything, it's to appreciate my home. My apartment deserved a New Year's treat just as much as I did.

So, I started the year with some much-needed interior decorating, mostly just decluttering my apartment, getting rid of useless junk, and upgrading some old and overused pieces with new, functional yet stylish additions.

It definitely felt like a big task, but day by day and bit by bit my apartment was turning into the minimalist calming environment I had envisioned. I left my bedroom last because one of the goals out of all of this redecorating was to get myself a new bed. It has been on my to-do list for months, but finding exactly what I wanted wasn't easy.

Now my apartment is refreshed and so is my head. It's so true that a peaceful environment leads to a calmer mind. I achieved not only home-care, but self-care, too, and I feel like I'm already smashing 2022.
